STRUKSILON 8017

Application Fields

STRUKSILON 8017 was developed as specific silicone surfactant for continuous production of PIR based rigid foam materials.

STRUKSILON 8017 is applicable in combination with HCFC's as well as pentane based blowing agents. It is especially designed for fast running machines with line speed higher than 30 m/min and high index foams.

Chemical and Physical Properties

According to its chemical structure STRUKSILON 8015 is a polyether modified polydimethyl siloxane resistant to hydrolysis.

General chemical structure:

Struksilon 8017 is a clear, colourless to slightly yellow liquid of middle viscosity, has strong surfactant properties and is miscible with water at room temperature.

Technical Properties

STRUKSILON 8017 is a modified material that offers especially very good nucleation and fulfils exactly the requirements of very fast curing, mainly polyesterpolyol based PIR systems produced continuously at high production line speeds.

Due to the specific modification it is suitably for all blowing agents and offers good cell structures and k-factors in HCFC's, n/iso or cyclo-pentane based formulations.

STRUKSILON 8017 can be used for all common board thicknesses for 0.5 inch to more than 4 inch. Due to its wide production window STRUKSILON 8017 is also recommended when thickness of products or facings are changed frequently during production.

Recommended Dosage

Usually, STRUKSILON 8017 is applied in quantities of 1.5 php ¨C 2.5 php (parts on 100 parts polyol). We recommend adjusting the optimum dosage to the corresponding formula. However, a concentration of 4.0 php should not be exceeded.

Product Safety and Handling

STRUKSILON 8017 is classified as Class 9, UN 3082 in respect to the transport regulations of hazardous goods. Further information regarding safety, toxicology, special properties of the product, transport and storage are given in the safety data sheet.

Packaging, Storage and Transport

Storage stability	12 months in closed original containes if transported and stored at a tempreture between 1 and 30 °C.
Packaging	200 kg drums 1000 kg containers(IBC)
