DA 400 is a Polyoxypropylenediamine with a average molecular weight about 400.The carbon-oxygene backbone is terminated on both ends by primary amine groups which are attached to secondary carbon atoms .Hence the nucleophilic reaction of the amine groups is sterically hindered by the vicinal methyl groups. This leads to a moderate reactivity of DA 400 which is desired for many epoxy applications. The reactivity decreases also with the chain length. In this series,DA250 shows the highest reactivity and DA2000 the lowest.
